The Vice Chancellor, Professor E Nigel Harris, visited London (England) on September 14th 2006 to deliver the prestigious Norman Washington Manley Lecture. It was the 10th Anniversary of the Lecture and the VC was hosted by the UWI United Kingdom Alumni President, Mr Vernon Barrett. The lecture was delivered at the Royal Geographical Society and the topic was "Mobilising a University to forge a Global Caribbean Community". Over 200 members of the British Caribbean Diaspora, Friends of the Caribbean and dignitaries - including Members of Parliament, High Commissioners, European Union officials, and Lords - were in attendance.
